HIGH SCHOOL

Beaver Ponds EEC welcomes visits from your high school group. We will happily work with you and your staff on what particular aspect of environmental education you would like to focus on with your students. We can tailor programs to meet Colorado State Standards for Education.  We make sure that the lessons we teach are experiential, hands-on, age-appropriate, and most of all FUN so that your students want to learn more about protecting our environment and getting outdoors. High school students are often eager to “volunteer” and we can usually find science-based experiments or volunteer experiences for them to lend a hand.  Contact Kristin Barrett at kbarrett@beaverponds.org for more information.

Operating under the umbrella of teaching about high altitude ecosystems, sustainability concepts, and climate change, some of our specific programs include:

Beaver Ecology
Watershed
Sustainable Agriculture & Domestic Animals
Greenhouses & Gardening
Medicinal & Native Plants
Renewable Energy
Healthy Forests

“I RECEIVED A FULL RIDE SCHOLARSHIP TO CU STARTING THIS FALL.  I DID A PROJECT AT BEAVER PONDS AS PART OF MY CLASSWORK FOR AN ADVANCED PLACEMENT BIOLOGY CLASS DURING THE FALL OF 2014.  I HIGHLIGHTED MY WORK AT BP AS PART OF MY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION AND AM VERY APPRECIATIVE OF THE TIME I SPENT AT BP!”
