EDUCATION & PROGRAMS

BEAVER PONDS IS AN OUTDOOR CLASSROOM THAT TAKES THE SUBJECT OF SUSTAINABILITY AND OFFERS INDIVIDUALS OF ALL AGES THE TOOLS AND KNOWLEDGE NECESSARY TO BECOME BETTER STEWARDS OF THE EARTH.

Beaver Ponds EEC is open to individuals and groups of all ages and experience who are interested in visiting to learn about high altitude ecosystems, sustainability concepts, and climate change.  Specifically we offer programs on beaver ecology, watershed, sustainable farming and domestic animals, greenhouses and gardening, medicinal and native plants, renewable energy systems, and forest health management.

If you would like to visit, or would like to use any of the attributes of Beaver Ponds for educational purposes, please e-mail us at info@beaverponds.org to arrange an invitation.

“The most important thing we do here at Beaver Ponds is offering learners of all ages real world educational experiences aimed at making them care more about sustainability and thereby engage in activities to become better stewards of our earth,”  Kevin Hosman, Executive Director.

“YOUR PEOPLE DREAMED OF HUGE FACTORIES, TALL BUILDINGS, AS MANY CARS AS THERE ARE RAINDROPS IN THIS RIVER….NOW YOU BEGIN TO SEE THAT YOUR DREAM IS A NIGHTMARE.”  HOW MIGHT WE MAKE THINGS BETTER?  “THAT’S SIMPLE. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CHANGE THE DREAM…YOU NEED ONLY PLANT A DIFFERENT SEED, TEACH YOUR CHILDREN TO DREAM NEW DREAMS.”
~ ELDER OF ECUADOR’S SHUAR TRIBE, 1991
