VOLUNTEER AT BEAVER PONDS!
We love volunteers. We can always use an extra pair of hands or the donation of special skills. There’s always lots to do at Beaver Ponds. You could help out by teaching classes with kids and adults. Volunteers can choose to work in our greenhouse, or assist with animal care. Help is always appreciated identifying and counting trees and plant species, or lending a hand with our fiber program. BPEEC also holds events throughout the year when we need volunteers. We greatly value the time and energy our volunteers invest in our mission, and in return we work hard to provide an interesting and educational volunteer experience.
• Lending an extra set of hands when school groups and other groups of children visit
• Greeters during open houses and special events
• Helping to maintain the trail
• Assisting in curriculum development
• Lending skills to social media tasks
• Putting up flyers in Alma, Fairplay, and Breckenridge
• Thanking donors with a phone call and/or hand written note
• Administrative tasks
• Auto/mechanic skills
• Carpentry skills: help with various repair/maintenance projects
Have a skill set we don’t even know we need? It happens ~ volunteers Greg and Diane have been mapping our native plants and creating a GPS database of the native and medicinal plants on the property…let us know if you would like to lend a hand to our mission of providing environmental education that gives individuals of all ages the tools and knowledge they need to become better stewards of the earth!
